Integral Theory Conference

This presentation develops an Integral concept of touch by drawing on the Integral Ecology framework and on the contemporary French philosophers Gilles Deleuze and Jean-Luc Nancy. The task of integrating multiple ecological perspectives can be understood as an effort to touch ecological perspectives. Touching brings together while also allowing what is brought together to remain different and distinct. By developing a concept of touch, Integral ecologists can develop tactics for becoming more tactful in their contact with multiple and contradictory perspectives. In short, Integral ecologists must learn the importance of what Wilber describes as the “Lightness of touch.”
